Saturday, March 21st, Eternal Now and Working Name Studios present Amirtha Kidambi live in the Green Room at The Crown, joining Zekarias Thompson, Cheflee, Kevin Corcoran and Lonald J. Bandz.
A musician and composer, activist and educator, Kidambi is invested in the creation and performance of "subversive, anti-hegemonic music," combining elements of free jazz, Indian devotional music, and other experimental forms. Running through her interwoven is practices is a strong spirit of collaboration across traditions and boundaries.
For this one, the multi-instrumentalist joins a trio of sets: a set each from Amirtha and from the trio of Thompson, Cheflee and Corcoran, plus a collaborative improvisation featuring all four.
Soundtracking the night — for dancing, communing, vibing — is DJ and producer Lonald J. Bandz, spinning all vinyl.
